Content Settings for AI Product Optimizer
The AI Product Optimizer part inside Content Settings let you control what StoreRank generates, how much content it creates, and what happens to those improvements when you run the optimizer or use Autopilot.

You can find these settings under AI Product Optimizer β Settings.
Automation
The Automation settings let you put product optimization on autopilot.
There are two separate controls:
Optimize new products automatically
When enabled, StoreRank automatically generates optimized content for new products as you add them.
It generates the fields you've selected under Fields to generate, up to your monthly credit limit.
This only creates AI suggestions. It does not automatically publish everything. What gets published is controlled by the setting below.
Important: Autopilot only applies to new products. It does not automatically optimize products that already exist in your store.
To optimize existing products, open the AI Product Optimizer and select the products you want to optimize. You can select multiple products and optimize them in bulk.
Publish improvements automatically
This controls which generated fields can go live without manual review.
When enabled, any fields you've checked in the publishing options will be published automatically. Fields that aren't checked will remain under Needs Review for you to approve.
We recommend automatically publishing the fields that aren't visible on your product page:
Search results only
Meta title
Meta description
Image alt text
These fields help search engines and AI understand your products, without changing what shoppers see directly on your product page.
For customer-facing content, we recommend reviewing the changes first:
Shown on your product page
Product title
Product description
FAQs
You can change these selections at any time.
How the two automation settings work together
Think of them as two separate steps:
Optimize new products automatically β AI generates the improvements.
Publish improvements automatically β determines which of those improvements can go live automatically.
For example, with both settings enabled and the recommended fields selected:
You add a new product.
StoreRank generates the selected product content automatically.
Meta title, meta description, and image alt text are published automatically.
Product title, product description, and FAQs are saved for review.
You can review and edit those changes before publishing them.
Fields to generate
This setting controls which product fields AI should write when you run the optimizer.
You can enable or disable each field individually:
Product title
Product description
Meta title
Meta description
Image alt text
FAQs
These selections apply to the optimization process, including automatic optimization of new products when Autopilot is enabled.
Product description length
Choose how long AI-generated product descriptions should be.
The available options determine the target length of the generated descriptions. Standard (200β350 words) is recommended for most stores.
FAQs per product
Choose how many FAQs StoreRank should generate for each product, up to the limit allowed by your plan.
More FAQs can give AI and search engines additional useful context about your products, but they also use more credits.
Base FAQs on real search questions
When enabled, StoreRank bases FAQs on real search questions rather than simply generating generic questions.
This helps create FAQs around the kinds of questions people actually search for and gives your product content more useful context for AI and search.
When you run the optimizer
This setting controls whether StoreRank should fill content gaps or rewrite the selected fields regardless of their current state.
Fill gaps only
This is the recommended option.
StoreRank only generates content for selected fields that need work. Fields that already pass the relevant checks are left alone.
This helps you:
Avoid unnecessarily rewriting good content
Keep your existing content where it is already strong
Use fewer credits
Focus optimization on the areas that need improvement
For example, if a product already has a strong product description but is missing image alt text, StoreRank can generate the alt text without rewriting the description.
Rewrite everything
Use this when you want AI to regenerate every selected field, including fields that already pass the content checks.
This can be useful after a major brand change, when you want to refresh your product content or apply a new direction across your catalog.
Note: Rewrite everything can use more credits because it regenerates fields that may already be well optimized.
Recommended settings
For most stores, we recommend:
Automation
β Optimize new products automatically
β Publish improvements automatically
Automatically publish
β Meta title
β Meta description
β Image alt text
β¬ Product title
β¬ Product description
β¬ FAQs
Fields to generate
Select the fields you want StoreRank to maintain automatically. We recommend enabling all relevant fields so new products get a complete optimization.
Product descriptions
Standard (200β350 words)
FAQs
Use the maximum number allowed by your plan if you want broader coverage
β Base FAQs on real search questions
When you run the optimizer
Fill gaps only β recommended for ongoing optimization
Rewrite everything β use when you specifically want a full content refresh
This setup gives you continuous optimization for new products, automatically handles lower-risk search-focused fields, and keeps customer-facing content under your control.
Existing products
One important distinction: turning on Autopilot does not start optimizing your existing catalog.
Autopilot is designed to automatically handle new products going forward.
For products already in your store, use the AI Product Optimizer to select products and optimize them in bulk. You can then review the generated changes and publish them according to your normal workflow.
This means you can get your existing catalog up to speed once, then let Autopilot take care of new products as they're added.
How settings affect your credits
AI optimization uses credits according to the fields and amount of content you ask StoreRank to generate.
You can reduce unnecessary credit usage by:
Using Fill gaps only instead of Rewrite everything
Selecting only the fields you need
Avoiding repeated full rewrites of content that already passes
Using Autopilot to continuously handle new products rather than manually remembering to optimize them
Your Autopilot optimization of new products is also subject to your monthly credit limit.
Can I change these settings later?
Yes. You can change your Product Optimizer settings at any time.
Changing the settings controls future optimization runs. It doesn't automatically rewrite or republish your existing product content.
For example, you can start with Fill gaps only, then switch to Rewrite everything later if you decide to refresh your catalog after a brand change.
