How to Add Custom Topics

Step 1: Open Custom Topics Modal

Click "Add custom topic" button in the AI Article Autopilot interface.

Step 2: Add Your Topics

Manual Entry: Type or paste topics, one per line, in the text field.

AI Generation:

  1. Click "Generate" in the Custom topics section

  2. AI will suggest relevant topics based on your store

Step 3: Understand Research Run Limits

Research runs analyze search volume and difficulty for topics.

Monthly limits by plan:

  • Starter: 5 research runs/month

  • Pro: 10 research runs/month

  • Growth: 15 research runs/month

  • Scale: 25 research runs/month

Important: Add 20-50 topics per research run to maximize value. Each run analyzes all topics you submit, so batch them together.

Example of efficient use:

  • ❌ Bad: Submit 5 separate runs with 5 topics each = 5 runs used

  • ✅ Good: Submit 1 run with 25 topics = 1 run used

Step 4: Submit Topics

Click "Add topics" to run the research and add topics to your queue.

Step 5: Review Results

Topics appear in your main queue with Opportunity and Difficulty scores. Sort by "Opportunity" to find the best topics to schedule first.
